Jazz Recap: Dec 18-Jan 4

The Utah Jazz started their four game road trip with a great win in Brooklyn, 92-90. Utah was up two late when Gerald Wallace missed a three for the lead. However, rebounding specialist Reggie Evans grabbed the offensive board, then put up what should have been an easy putback to send overtime, but it went off the rim. Mo Williams led the Jazz with 19 points and 6 assists, while Al Jefferson and Marvin Williams added double-doubles. Here is a recap of that game:
The next stop for Utah was in Indiana. This time, however, they weren't so lucky. Gerald Green, Paul George, and George Hill all put up 20+ points as the Indiana Pacers blew out the Jazz, 104-84. Here is a video recap of that game:
The next stop for Utah was arguably the toughest one of the road trip, as they were matched up against LeBron James and Dwayne Wade in Miami. The Jazz had a better game than they had in Indiana, but Miami was just too much. Wade and James combined for 51 points as the Jazz fell to the Heat, 105-89. Mo Williams, Utah's star point guard, also suffered a finger injury midway through the game. He has been out ever since. Here is a recap of that game:

The final stop of Utah's four game road trip put them against another Floridan team, the Orlando Magic. The Jazz, without Mo Williams and down by as many as 16, somehow pulled out a win, 97-93. This ended an Orlando three game win streak. Paul Millsap had 18 points and Gordon Hayward added 17. Six Jazz players scored in double figures in the win. Here is a video recap:
Next, the Jazz went back home to face the Golden State Warriors after Christmas. The Jazz kept it close until the second quarter, when the Warriors went on a 12-2 run right before halftime. It was just the 3rd home loss for Utah in the season, but the second straight. Led by Stephen Curry's 23 points and David Lee's 18, the Warriors beat the Jazz, 94-83. Here is a recap:
The Jazz stayed at home for their next game, but they were matched up against the Los Angeles Clippers, who were on a 15 game win streak. The Jazz were up 13 in the second half, and seemed to have the game under control, but there was just too much from the Clippers. Al Jefferson committed a reach-in foul with the game tied late, putting Chris Paul at the line for two. Paul made both free-throws. After a Jazz timeout, Randy Foye made contact with Matt Barnes and threw up a three for the win, but it was off the rim. He didn't get the shot off in time, anyhow, so it wouldn't have counted. Despite Randy Foye and Al Jefferson combining for 50 points, Chris Paul and Blake Griffin combined for 51 points. The Utah Jazz lost their third in a row at home, falling to the Clips 116-114. Here is a game recap:
The Jazz had one more chance to end the Clippers win streak during their next game, but this one was in LA.  However, this one wasn't even close. Led by Caron Butler's 29 points, with CP3 and Jamal Crawford putting up 19 points each, the LA Clippers beat the Utah Jazz, 107-96. This is a video recap:
Going back to Utah for their next game, the Jazz absolutely slaughtered the Minnesota Timberwolves, 106-84. Led by Gordon Hayward's 17 and with six players in double figures, the Jazz pulled out an easy win. Here is a video recap:
In the final game I will mention on this post, the Utah Jazz went to Phoenix to face the Suns. Last time the Jazz went to Phoenix, they lost by 15. This time, though, they held off Marcin Gortat's double-double as they beat the Suns, 87-80. Paul Millsap and Al Jefferson combined for 40 and it was an easy win.
